Quiet Places: Paintings by Melville Stark

Born in Honesdale, PA, Stark had a long career as an artist and educator during the twentieth century. Known for his en plein air landscapes, he lived for many years in the Lehigh Valley, where he taught at the Baum School of Art, Cedar Crest College, and Muhlenberg College. He also helped to establish the Lehigh Art Alliance and Allentown Art Museum in Allentown, PA. In addition, Stark worked at summer studios in Rockport, MA and Longboat Key, FL.
