Jeremy Dennis. Nicole Dennis-Banks. Archival inkjet print on
matte paper.
Dennis is a tribal member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation living and working on the Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton, NY. In his work, he explores issues of indigenous identity, culture, and assimilation. This show includes selections from his On this Site series and Shinnecock Portrait Project, which celebrate the resilience and autonomy of indigenous communities by confronting historical contexts and challenging media perceptions.
